Thank you, Chief Brian Stahlecker (US Coast Guard), Dr. Jon Briel (Capt., US Army), Staff Sergeant Douglas Lawson (US Army), and Specialist John Pritchett (US Army), for your service and for inspiring our students with your dedication.

🎉 Back in August, we drew names of lucky teachers for a special prize: an afternoon off with an administrator stepping in as their substitute! Recently, our elementary principals, Mrs. McGurk and Mrs. Keith, took their turn—they stepped into Mrs. Hagerman’s and Mrs. Stahlecker’s middle and high school classes, giving these teachers a well-deserved break. It looks like everyone enjoyed the change!
We’re so grateful for our dedicated teachers and supportive administrators! #larnedpride #bettertogether
Congratulations to the LMS boys and girls basketball teams with sweeps of Reno Valley at home on Monday and at Fairfield tonight!! 6 wins on Monday and 4 wins on Tuesday. Go Indians!

Today, we celebrate the vital role parents play in their children's early learning journey. We’re especially grateful for Mrs. Marshall and our own Parents as Teachers (PAT) program at USD 495. Through her dedication, Mrs. Marshall supports and empowers families in our community, helping children build a strong foundation for success. Thank you, Mrs. Marshall, for all you do! #larnedpride #ParentsAsTeachers
This Election Week, Voters Big and Small Cast Their Ballots! 🗳️
Students across the district got a taste of the democratic process! Many classes "registered" to vote and made some tough (and tasty!) decisions like choosing between Oreos or chocolate chip cookies, and hamburgers or hot dogs.
One class took things a step further with fun, hands-on activities! They practiced reading CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words and matched the word to the picture on their ballot. In social studies, they explored election vocabulary, nominated “candidates” (pizza, hamburger, and ice cream), and discussed the pros and cons of each during campaign time. After careful consideration, ice cream won this election—and it’s even more fun when you’re able to celebrate with the winning “candidate!”
A special thank you to the Pawnee County Elections Office for donating "I Voted!" and "Future Voter" stickers to make this experience even more memorable. We even had a couple of teachers on vacation proudly sharing their "I Voted" stickers from afar—showing students that voting is important no matter where you are.
Way to go, future voters, and thank you to our teachers for showing them the power of casting a ballot and the freedom of using their voices! #larnedpride #bettertogether #lesfamily
