LMS Community Service Day
Each fall, our LMS students and staff try to give back to the community by raking leaves and helping to clean up yards for elderly and disabled individuals. People that we have helped in the past along with some new ones that contact us are divided into different areas of the town. With the help of Richard Fairchild, our district transportation director, we disperse the teacher and student teams to various locations throughout the city. Each team has a certain number of yards that they clean before moving to the next one. With the help of local individuals with trucks/trailers, we take the bags of leaves to the local compost piles. This past fall we cleared 43 yards of debris on a beautiful autumn afternoon. On this afternoon each fall, our goal is to give back to our community for their support throughout the school year.
